Well i think that would give them plenty of time to adjust to it just be sure to wear a cover scent and try not to add more and more accessories to it if you put the whole thing up in the summer they should pay no attention to it by the time the season comes in. Good Luck. Big smile

the deer will get used to it

the deer will get used to it real fast if you empty out 2-3 50 pound bags of sweet feed. not in piles, just scatter it out. then you'll see them pretty regular. Wink

Yes, that will give the deer plenty of time to get used to it. I have several that I have put up during summer months and have scored from them the following fall season. GET ER DONE!

summer time

You will not disturb anything if you put something up 4 months before season starts. I typically move a couple stands around mid season and see great results.  Good Luck:thumbsup1:

lots of people build

lots of people build platforms, and it doesn't seem to affect deer movement. my suggestion is that you build wallsor some kind of back drop for it. because they will notice that it is out of the ordinary, but they won't be afraid of it, so you will see lots of deer coming into the area looking straight at it.

i know guys that hunt out of these platform blinds that have serious time invested in them. they have taken it as far as putting little cook stoves and heaters even a lazy-boy chair in them! now that's hunting in STYLE!

I don't think that will be a problem at all. Put it up and good luck on nailing the big one.

Plenty of Time

You will have plenty of time to have the deer get use to the stand. Your probably going to be hunting in it in the next couple weeks. Make sure and give us an update on how it goes.

  The original post was back

The original post was back in December of 2004... but it still holds true today.  Build it and they will come!  And after 7 years I hope it has provided that many years of awesome shots and harvests!
