How many years did it take you to get your first whitetail with your bow? I shot mine my 2nd year. I also shot my first bow buck in my 2nd year as well.

1st year of bowhunting, which was also my 1st year of hunting. Shot a doe fawn after her mom busted me, but the doe fawn not being as smart hung around long enough for me to put an arrow through her.

Have'nt taken one with a Bow
Have'nt taken one with a Bow yet,there were a few year's i did'nt pick one up...Past 5 year's though i have...Last year was first time i drew back on one,must have missjudged distance,gut shot her,lost her...Doe Fever came over me,lol....Deer Slayer,you said doe Fawn...Fawn with spot's?...We're not allowed spotted Fawn's....

No it was in November so the fawn was 6 months or so. Here in Ohio around that time the fawns weigh around 80-100 pounds.

Dang ! thats a long time ago !!
Killed first deer first year and first time out with a Bow. killed 2 that year with bow.
Took 3 more years to connect with a Buck though.
I still hunt with that same Bow, going on almost 20 years now.

I've always called them fawns still even though their bigger by the time hunting season comes around. That was the only time I shot one, haven't done it since and don't intend to. But, if I ever had one come by that still had spots I def. would not shoot it.

I'm not really sure what you are referring to here but it seems like you are degrading my son's first kill. It was his very first year hunting period. Also his first with a bow. He was only 13. You know nothing about the situation and you know nothing about us. So, before you go bashing others you should consider yourself. I'm sure you aren't perfect. We here on BGH respect each other. If you want to bash people go join some of those oter hunting sites on the web. They welcome posts like this.

Pardon me if I seem overly critical, but bragging rights do not belong to people who shoot fawns that live on the grounds of an apartment complex. Around here we refer to them as "pet deer" and NOBODY shoots them. We go to the woods and hunt the wild ones, the ones that don't stand around waiting for handouts or posing for pictures.
Yeah, I'm not gonna sit there and diss a 13 year old kid who know basically nothing about deer hunting becuase it was his first year of deer hunting. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know she was a yearling till my dad told me. But if that's how you rule, dissing kids that are learning how to hunt, then so be it. You aren't a true deer hunter.
