first shed trip of the year

I finally made it out to look for sheds. After 8 miles of hiking all I found was this 2 year old bull shed. I was surprised by the amount of foot prints and lack of brown deer sheds. I can't believe this shed went unnoticed for so long, it was in the middle of a large clearing in the bottom of a draw. I guess they are harder to miss once they turn white.

Nice find but looks like

Nice find but looks like someone had already been thru that area and cleaned out the antlers. My son went out last weekend with his buddy to a spot he has done very well in the past. They saw tons of foot prints and ran into 2 guys using 8 mules who went in and really cleaned up. My son and his friend only found 8 and only 2 were fresh in 2 days of hiking. Seeing more and more folks out shed hunting as the market is pretty good. I do it for the fun and to use as décor around the house but as long as there is money involved people will be out looking to make a quick buck.
