Fellow hunters, I might as well make a splash on my first post here with a sure to be opinionated question / response thread . . .
I am organizing a May, 2008 (wish I'd booked 2007!) 6-day black bear hunt in Saskatchewan. Based on research and discussions with hunting mates who have "been there and done that" bow hunting blackies, I'm planning to use
the new Easton “Full Metal Jacket” arrow that is slightly heavier but packs a wallop on contact (carbon inside, aluminum exterior), topped with Steel Force HellFire Titanium 125 gr. broadheads. My Mathews bow is set up at 65 #. What I seek is the super durable arrow and penetration power at 20-25 yards or less for a blackie.
Thoughts, comments, or suggestions, or even flames, please?
Thanks, and kudos to what looks like a VERY informed forum here!
P.S. I'm booked with Woulfe & Sons outfitters - any experience with their work you can share?
