After a new snow a buddy and I decieded to do a little predator hunting. Our First set was uneventfull so we decided to move to the next canyon. On the way to our pre-determined saddle we found a very fresh lion track. So off we go following the track and glassing in front of us. After about a mile of tracking I spot him on the other side of the canyon. Off comes the pack, a quick range verification (352)and I am setting up for the shot. My buddy still thinks I am f-ing with him. I look through the scope making sure there are no cubs around. Everything is a go. Settle the crosshairs, BOOM. Down he goes. As we are sitting there just staring not beleiving what had happened another one steps out. Holy crap. My buddy sets up and pulls the trigger. CLICK. No bullet in the chamber. This one looks bigger than mine, also smart. Leaves the area without another shot fired. Oh well, I am stoked. Got my first lion, bummed we didn't get the double, none the less still happy. On the way over to him we think I must have shot the female. Found it and confirm it is a male, good sized one at that. Must have been a female in heat around the area. He taped out an honest 7'8". As far as weight I can only guess 150-175.
