My son and I found a few nice sheds last weekend. He found 2 sets of fresh elk sheds and a few singles. I found the dead head buck while on a hike with my wife not even really shed hunting. For fun I scored it and it is roughly a 168 but since I am not 100% proficient in scoring racks it may be off a few points. Not sure if it was winter kill or a lion kill. Skull was pretty chewed up but since there is no vehicle traffic in the area for miles figured it had to one or the other. Still a good find and a nice buck

Those are some good sized sheds! Nice finds! Do you do anything particular with the sheds, or just collect them? My girlfriend and I found a matching set of muley sheds a couple year back and they sit on the mantle now. Hopefully will find a few more in the next couple of years to keep decorating with!

Thanks, we collect them and
Thanks, we collect them and use them for our decor around the house. Have used several to outline the driveway, some in the rock garden, and some used in mounts or with mounts. Would like to someday find enough to make a small fence out of them. Found a matching pair of 7x7 elk last year. They live in the living room and this buck will be inside my shop once I clean it up. Nice find on the muley pair, I am sure they look great on the mantle.

It is always cool finding
It is always cool finding sheds but I have never purposly went out in the spring to look for them. I usually find a few during the hunts since I usually go where other hunters and people don't like to go. I then have to decide if I want to pack it back to the truck. If it is a odd ball looking one it will always make it back and if I am close enough the others will also come back with me. I do however leave quite a few in the sagebrush where they fell.

Those were actually over
Those were actually over several days, but for a while there each time I walked around our new prop I was finding one or two, just sitting right out in the open most of the time. Last couple times I've been there I havn't found any new ones, so I guess I got most that had been sitting there for the past several years...at least the ones that were easy to see! A couple of the more recent looking ones were a really nice size. I wonder if it was the same couple of bucks that dropped them in roughly the same spot year after year??

Looking at those sheds it
Looking at those sheds it does look like 2 sets are from the same deer. You might see that buck this year on the property and next spring find another set from him. Not sure if this is prectical for you but setting up a game camera would be cool.
Quinton, surprise you have not been out to find some yourself. I know in past years you and the family have found some nice ones. Looking forward to this weekend and for sure will post how we do. Spinney Mountain opens tomorrow so plan on hammering the trout then heading to my sons.
