We'll me and my brother sat out yesterday afternoon to try and fill his OTC Bull tag. He got here around 5:30 and we made a mad dash up the mountain. We could hear the bugles and calls all around us and right away we spooked a bunch of cows. After about 30 minutes of the hardest hiking in my life we ran into the bull.
I proceeded to back off from my brother and start calling. After I did all hell broke loose. Bulls were screaming on all sides of us and there were multiple cows running within 10 yards of us. After what seamed like an eternity of calling and running the bull showed himself about 200 yards from me and about 100 from my bro. He took about a 75 yard shot with his .270. The bull was quartering away uphill hard. The bullet got him in the back and went straight into his hert and lung. We only found blood clots and no hear and only part of one lung. The bull dropped where he stood then tried to get up and run.
we saw he was down and headed up the hill right away. We didnt even have a knife with us so we had to hike back home and get everyhting. The bull was down a little after 6:00 and we didnt get him off the mountain untill after 11:00 last night.
This is my brothers first bull also. He's had a pretty damn good season considering he got his first buck on saturday. We've worked harder then ever since a month before archery for this. We're off tomarow back to unit 33 to try and fill my buck tag. We're glad to get his bull here because there way to many elk hunters in 33.
Anyone make a guess on the score???
