First big game gun

My first big game rifle was a Winchester Model 94 lever action 30-30 with out a scope. This was a great gun to learn with. My grandpa gave me this gun. I now use a 300 Winchester Magnum Model-70 Classic in matte SS. But one of my favorite guns is my Winchester 22 semi-auto long rifle. This was grandmothers my barn yard gun. She would use it for chickens, squirrles and even quail. It's a lot of fun to target shoot or plink can's with.

Marlin 30-30 open sights for deer. Didn't grow up hunting anything else but I later expanaded my horizons and picked up a 30-06 for elk and antelope. Now I mostly use my 7mm rem mag.

My first rifle was when I was eleven it was savage 32-40 hex barrel deer engraved on one side and a hound on the other side.Made the mistake of my life traded it with an other hunter when I was young for another rifle that was much lighter for dogging. It didn't have a lot of punch but was it acurate. should never of let this older gentleman talk me into it.This happened over thirty years ago and still bothers me.I paid ten dollars for the 32-40 and got a brand new gun worth 300 at the time.

I started with a 20 ga Remington Model 11 since I lived in a slug-only area at the time. According to the serial # it was built in 1941, but had spent most of its life in my uncle's closet by the time I got my hands on it. I had a ball with the gun and got my first deer with it, but when I left home Dad gave it back to my uncle, where it's spent the last 20 years in the closet again. If there was any way I could get my hands on it again, I'd certainly jump on it. It's too nice of a gun to sit idle.

My first was a Remington Model 700 BDL in 30-06. Now I have that gun, a Marlin 22 WMR, a Remington 870 Express Synthetic, A Remington 700 ADL synthetic in 7mm Remington Magnum, which I have no doubt will be my main game taker, and a Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Weatherby Magnum. I'm very happy with thses guns and appreciate them very much.

My first kill was with my Dads remington 760 pump in 30.06 when I was 9 years old. After that I would be put out at some cross road with an old H&R bolt action 12 guage shotgun to wait for the hounds to chase a Deer my way, which never happened.sad My first rifle that was my own was a remington 760 pump in .308 cal. I bought it at a yard sale when I was 18 for $150.00. Used it for 20 years until it was stolen along with almost all of my other guns during a burglary of my home 2 years ago. Now I have a remington 700 in 30.06 and a marlin 30.30 lever action that share equal hunting time.

My first big game rifle is a Remington 760 (.30-06) given to me by my grandfather in 1957. It has accompanied me into the woods every November for nearly 1/2 a century. It's been very good to me. No need to buy anything else.

My first deer rifle was a Remington 722 257Roberts. Started using it when I was 11. My father killed his first deer with it in 1971. Don't hunt with it much anymore but is still one of the best shooting guns in my cabinet.
