they usually stay back a few feet, only catching when they have to to keep it bayed or from getting another dog. yes i've lost a few to bear injuries and came close to losing more than that, it never suprises me when i have to sew up a dog or rush one to the vet, there for a while i kept the vet in buisness during bear season for two years in a row they made about 800 bucks off of me in a 3 week period due to injured bear hounds.

yea 800 2 different dogs one cost me 400 and the other was actually 430 so a little over 8, almost lost one of them but she pulled through and is still hunting today

yea she only catches bear on the back end now with no other dogs in her excape rute

Thats right 777. Sorry you couldnt make it, but at the same time Im glad Im going. I hope you dont kick yourself all year for not being able to go. Good luck the next time you go and if you are doing any deer hunting.
