First Archery Elk Success

After fourteen days of chasing elk with a bow, seven from the opener, and a second seven ending last night, I filled my tag last night. With the help of my cousins, Manuel, and Josh, who really know how to call elk, we were in elk thick the fast few days. Being I had to return to work tonight and last nights hunt was it, it was a great feeling to get it done with seconds remaining on the clock. Big thanks to Manuel and Josh who have really been there for me on some great hunts! My bull was taken at slightly over forty yards with my Bear Charge set at 68 lbs using a 5575 Goldtip Arrow and Rage two blade broadheads.

Big time thanks!

Really an awesome feeling to connect with a bow on a nice bull. I've now taken the magestic elk with first muzzleloader then rifle and now archery. Feels great hunting with any one of these weapons but bow during the rut takes it to a whole nother level! Close bone chilling encounters with screaming bulls knowing you gotta get real close and get the right angle. Just an undescribible experience......I encourage any one who hunts to try it. Now in a couple weeks chasing pronghorn bucks with dad and the rifles always a great time. Then rifle mulies and elk again end of Oct out east. Life is good my friends. Again thanks for your kind words and good luck to all with tags to fill!
