Congratulations!

Congratulations on a successful hunt and here's wishing you many many more.

I will be making the trip to WY, for the first time, this year for antelope myself. I'm lucky enough to have a friend, Hunter25, to show me the ropes and help make sense of it all.

Thanks BikerRN

I haven't checked this forum in quite a while. Sorry for the late response. I don't know if I drew a tag yet. I will know in the next couple weeks I believe. What unit are you and Hunter25 hunting? Good luck to you both.  Kevin

Woods, All I know is we will

Woods,

All I know is we will be hunting around Casper, WY. I'm still waiting for the draw results and going nuts.

To avoid going totally bat fecal matter crazy I've been shooting a lot working up loads for my 25/06. My situation is a bit different in that I can only hunt towards the end of the antelope season due to my scheduled vacation time. I couldn't get time off earlier. I look for there to be snow on the ground when I'm hunting.

You shouldn't have any snow

You shouldn't have any snow around the Casper area during antelope season unless there is a freak storm.

73 is the unit applied for.

73 is the unit applied for. Should draw with no problem if the stats stay the same as last year. Also second choice on the east side of Casper but not much public so hoping the 73 choice comes through.

I'm only going to buy a leftover doe tag if there are any. My main hunt should be nearly a month sooner as this one is planned for October 15th I believe. And I have been caught in some snow earlier than that but like you said it's not the normal situation.

I don't know why they drag the draw out so long in Wyoming compared to everywhere else.

We drew in unit 29

We drew in unit 29 last year, and I'm trying it again this year. I'm very blessed to have a good friend that has hunted out there for years and has invited me again this year. We hunt just north of Douglas on a couple of pieces of private land. Good luck to all in the draw.  Kevin
