Soros is a worrisome figure. If a conservative billionaire was funneling enormous amounts of money into buying a political party and reinventing America to his liking, the left would be having kittens.

Geez, that's not an article - but a long winded Soros biography!

Soros enjoys throwing his money around and influencing politics. Its wrong.

I found it ironic that his family had suffered greatly at the hands of the Russians, then years later invested nearly 1 billion $$ - and was fleeced! Ha ha! Too bad that didn't happen when he threw his money at the Obama campaign.

Expatriate it wasn't one billionair but a group of them about 30 years ago, left never even squeeked.

A lot of good newspapers and magazines print very long articles, usually the history is background to inform the present.

He is restricted just as all other rich people are by campaign laws, but yes rich people have a tremendous influence on the political process, look at Rupert Murdoch who isn't even a US citizen, (Fox News, Wall Street Journal)

Right...Obama just went through more money than any candidate in history to win the White House. Those campaign finance laws have definitely kept big money out of politics. Laugh

Sorros is a brilliant man.
His moveon.org people want to change the political landscape in America, making it a single party government.
He knows like all people that have common sense that the Democratic party will send the economy into ruination. Since he'll be the ONLY billionaire Democrat guess who'll have all the power?
Sorros makes his money by betting on the long shot underdog but having the wealth, AKA power, he can influence "things" to make them turn his way.

Difference between a group of billionaire Republicans and 1 billionaire Democrat is that fellow republicans would rather not bow down and take a hand out but would rather get theirs on their own terms.
The same can't be said for the fellow Democrats and their billionaire.

Where to begin.......

Most of Obamas support came from small donors, the under $200 crowd. I wish they'd rewrite campaign laws to limit the size of donations. Part of the deal Repubs struck for McCain Fiengold was to double the limit.

Soros's organisation is the Open Society Foundation not Move On dot org. Open Society promote education and free press, democracy, etc in emerging democracies such as Ukraine, read the article.

Don't know that Soros has ever suggested single party gov for the US, would be 180 degrees different from everything else he's ever done. Got a link?

Don't think the Dems will have a chance to send the economy into ruin, someone else already beat them to it. Read a paper or anything for the past two years? Oh, I forgot, Fox. Everything was great and then the Dems wrecked it all on Jan 20.

Only billionair democrat? Google this guy Warren Buffet for a start, oops don't use google, there's another one of those Dems.

" republicans would rather not bow down and take a hand out " OK give all that money bush got you all back, and stop taking the bail out money. I'd say Dems work for their money and Republicans wait for welfare. Corprate welfare. Games up. No more free money. Get a job.

Thank you, Baghdad Bob. Obama's money came from under-$200 donors, Soros isn't behind MoveOn, never wanted single-party government, McCain-Feingold keeps big money out, Bush created the hole, so Democrats aren't responsible for digging it deeper, blah, blah, blah.

Oh, yeah...I almost forgot. Fox news is lying.

Same old delusional claptrap. Might've worked when the left was in the minority, but now that it's in power you've got to do a lot better than that, Civet.

Nonsense again.
When do you actually check on things going on in the world? When someone post something? Is it then that you "Goggle" it and come up with your point of view?
I don't have to post a link, you can "goggle" it. Just try to read some other article that is not on the Obama website or in the Laotian Peoples Press.

For someone who involves themselves enough in politics to "man phone banks" during a Presidential Election Campaign your political ignorance is baffling to me.

I'd really like to see solid proof this!
I don't believe it for one second

The Dems were along with the rest this crash was comming in 2003 by Bush, again in 2005 by McCain.
Nobody was willing to shut down the money supply.

Actually I believe a majority of his support did come from this. You may not remember, or maybe you didn't hear, but I recall something to the effect of those contributions being in question. Numerous (too numerous) small contributions with alleged ties to overseas, but the funds being small they are not required to investigate or be traceable.
