Finally !!!!!

Thirty years plus of applying and my good hunting buddy finally got drawn!  District 2 bull tag.  Already itchy to get out scouting.

It is always nice to see

It is always nice to see someone draw a moose tag here in the lower 48, even after years of applying.

Congrats!

Congratulations! Is it safe to assume that you drew in Maine? My only advice is to scout a bit then plan to hunt every minute of every day the season is open. Bull or cow tag?

Good to talk moose again with you Mike.  Yup, bull tag in Maine, District 2.  Planning on scouting 7 to 10 days prior to the season.  Lots of big woods in this district.

Fantastic!

District 2 should have plenty of moose. How far from home will you be hunting? Camping on site so you can wake up and look for moose as soon as it is light?

Oh yeah.

"Camping on site so you can wake up and look for moose as soon as it is light?"  - Naturally!

About a seven hour trip Mike, the last fifty miles being BAD road.  Go slow, extra spares, tire repair kit, compressor and a bunch of Fix-A-Flat.  Nearest gas station is about 50 miles, so a bunch of cans too (the gas kind, not the beer kind).  Yes, District 2 is plenty moosey.
