What do you mean by field ? I have shot 3D and targets all of my life indoor and outdoor and I use my hunting rig no matter what. Any practice is good no matter what it is. As I have said before, even if it is only five arrows a day, it will keep all of your shooting skills and motions in tact.

I do agree with elkkill,
I do agree with elkkill, practice is practice and it’s all good. I like to use a variety of different situations to practice in but I think 3D shoots are one of the best ways to hone your hunting skills. I always use my hunting set up to shoot 3D tournaments. 3D shoots gives you the opportunity to shoot up and down angles and gives you a chance to practice your yardage estimation. I think you get much more hunting practice from a 3D shoot than you do at your block target in the back yard. I believe that you should get a variety of different situations to practice in unless you plan to kill your animals in your back yard. Other things I do to practice depend on the hunt in getting ready for. I set up my blind in the back yard and shoot from my blind chair or from my knees and I have been known to get on top of my house and practice angled shots too. Try to make your practice as real to the situations you might face in the woods, you will be a better hunter because of it. IMO
I was a member at a 3D archery club for a couple years. That was some of the best practice I've ever gotten. It just was inconveniant because it wasn't very close to my house. I miss shooting there though. Very realistic shooting situations.
Moose calling can get confusing to some, but cow calling is your main tool when moose hunting. If you go out and buy moose calls I would say you're wasting your money unless it is the birch bark cone. I find most store bought moose calls sounding worse than puffing a grunt your hands to make the call. You can roll up a piece of birch bark in a cone shape to use as a call and spend your money on a video that teaches you the basics of a cow call. A milk jug or a coffee can with a hole and a rope...
