I have seen it effective, but

I have seen it effective, but mainly for does.  If you're looking for some meat, it's a pretty good tactic.  of course, depending on where you hunt, you could also attract a coyote or a bear with that call..... lol

I read in the FFG that it

I read in the FFG that it works for mainly does but sometimes a buck will respond. I lost the instructions so I was wondering how to use it.

I have been successful for

I have been successful for calling in does with the fawn distress call, but not every time. I have never seen a buck come into this call. If you think about it this would make a buck probably high tail it out of there. Bucks are only concerned for their own safety, their stomach, and in the rut, mating. The only time they will be protective of another deer is when they may be after a hot doe.

I was bored today while up in

I was bored today while up in the stand and started blowin a few distress calls. Sure enough a few minutes later I had a big nanny doe rune up behind me looking for a fawn. I wasn't able to get a clear shot so I'm eating hamburger helper instead of backstrap and biscuits lol.

Most of the time a fawn distress call for me is good at calling in does only. I grunt  a few times to get the bucks attention.

Hunterboy, go to you-tube and

Hunterboy, go to you-tube and put in "fawn distress call". That will bring up several vids on using the call. Most use it as a predator call but it works for deer as well. Good luck Thumbs up

Good idea there. I can't believe the variety of things that you can find on youtube now. There have been many times in quite a few of my classes that professors have brought up youtube to show a clip that talks about the topic we are working on. From animal migrations to bird navigation to parasites and disease virulence. Youtube is great! And you can also find videos of people making themselves look as stupid as possible. You just can not beat it!
