fastest route to colorado

Hey i'm going to hunt colorado first rifle in white river national forest i'm coming from northern calif. I would like to end up on new castle buford road near the border of units 23,24,33,34 Is it faster or easier to take hwy 80 or 50. Google says 50 is shorter but the samenumber of hours wondering if its better to come in from the south new castle area or north out of meeker. thanks

It all depends on if you are

It all depends on if you are pulling a trailer or not.  Going the I-80 route there are a lot less tall hills to climb not to mention the faster speeds of a freeway.  The Hwy 50 route you don't hit a freeway until you get to I-70.

I agree. I-80 would be quicker. We use it to access other parts of northern Colorado instead of just heading straight across because of the lack of topography.

fastest way to colorado

Hey spotnstalk

I am in northern california and i am going first rifle season in the same area I am going 80 to US40 E to Herber/Vernal to Colorado then CO64 to my place not sure how to PM you but when you leaving I am leaving the 10th to do some scouting I will be packing in with my son.

trip 924 miles 14 hours 18mins.
