I've been out 1 time just for bear, we saw 1 little cub, couldnt find mama. I'm gonna take a day later this week on my elk hunt to bear hunt, there are a ton of bear in ne oregon where I'll be. hopefully if things go right I'll get a bear, deer and elk in the 5 days I'm there.
It was a slow hunt. since the elk werent talking like I hoped i had to focus my efforts every day on elk. I did see a lot of bear sign but no bears wich is kinda weird, I usally jump 1 or 2 during my hikes in the woods. I have all of OCT and half of NOV to focus on bears. then NOV21 comes late season archery deer. then Bear season stops DEC31.
Let me start off by saying I am not a farmer.
I am a deer hunter and I do own a tractor and have all of the equipment - but that does not make you a farmer any more than standing in the garage makes you a car - well, you get the picture!
Having said that - and with most of my ineptitude fairly well hidden - I do think that buckwheat is one of the most under rated cover crops out there.
I say cover crop because I see mixed results as it relates to the deer eating the plants.
