well Big E so far no luck on bagging that bear, season ends this wed-(19th), havnt even heard hide nor hair of one. but now that cold weather has set in and snow has blanketed the ground im wondering if they chose to bed early for the winter. I dont think that im gonna be able to get back out before season ends, so i just gonna have to wait till next sept for him. But i will try the vanilla thing again when season comes again and hopefuuly will be a succesfull one..Good luk to you on the rest of your hunting season.
Oh yes Billii, Vanilla is a great attracting scent.
I have used it for years on wild pigs and have had the occasional black bear come to it. Its not legal to hunt Bear here but they do come to vanilla.
There is also a product on the market called "'nilla killa". It says its for Deer, Bear, Wild Boar, and Coyotes. I have never had a deer or coyote come to it though.
I even saw on TLC Channel that Vanilla was the #1 scent that attracts men also. Not chanel #5 (spell?).
Don't assume that when fall comes, or hunting season, that the big bucks, and big bulls leave. Whitetail deer bucks especially, simply hide. And they hide very well. Mule deer bucks may leave a little. Bull elk may leave, but don't assume they do. Don't assume any of them do. I mean - where would they leave to?
