Ok, the sun has run away and it continues to rain. I am stuck in the house with nothing to do, except may stir up a little debate.
My wife and I were watching the news. They reported that a boat capsized and many of the passengers were killed by sharks. They went on to point out that most of the survivors were men. The stronger men made it safely to shore while the weaker women perished.
My wife thought that the men should have help save the women. I pointed out (it was raining yesterday too) that women should have no expectation of being helped in that type of situation. While in years past, men would be quite willing to sacrifice themselves to same a woman, but women fought hard for equality and with it comes certain disadvantages.
One of which is that it is "each man for themselves" in times of disaster. Now of course, many men will put women first, but that is a choice and women should have no expectation of it nor should they complain when it doesn't happen.
