I am planning on a Elk Hunt in Colardo next season. I have approximately 8 points. I just started shooting my bow again. I also shoot a muzzle loader and a long gun. Any advise on what season to hunt and what would be a better chance on taking a trophy bull. I would like to do a drop camp or maybe go with an outfiter.

Either bow or muzzle would be on of your best chances to get a nice bull. It's early they aren't spooked to the gills yet and when rutting your opportunity to see them and call them in increases your odds greatly.
Next best chance would be late season Nov. if the weather cooperates and drives the elk and bulls down to lower elevations.
