Elk Hunt

I was drawn to go bull elk hunting in Kentucky this year. I have contaced several of the at large places to go and every one is full. Can someone help me find a place? I have been hunting for several years mostly deer. The gun season for bull elk is Oct 7-13. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks
Jason

Elk hunting

I talked to the Fish and Wildlife Dept. this morning and was told that I was basically on my own on finding a place to hunt. All the places the Dept recommended are full.

If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Elk Hunt

Jason, Isn't there any large tracts of public land where the elk live? I would think they need alot of room to roam and public land usually fits that bill.
I would look at the harvest statistics and see where most of the animals are taken. Find some public land in that area and get in there as soon as possible and find some elk to go after when the season opens.
Best of luck to you. That sounds like a great tag to have.

Hunter,

Thanks for your response. Late yesterday afternoon an elk biologist contacted me with a place to hunt in Leslie County.
