Well while I was out fishing with the wife, kids, and my mom and dad. My cousin and buddy were up on The Park lookin for elk. Well they found a couple of bulls and actually watched them shed there antlers. One bull dropped both sides and the other only dropped one side.

Here they are ! :D  My nephew does not look to happy. lol

Oh Wow! That must be really

Oh Wow! That must be really cool! Those are some really nice looking antlers. And to actually watch one shed them must have been really neat.

Now - you mentioned, "The Park" - is that a place where the elk come down to winter? Maybe Estes Park? It seems like I have seen videos of lots of elk there roaming around, obstructing traffic and so forth. It's a little hard for an Mid-Westerner to imagine living in a place like that, but the locals seemed to take it all in a day's work.

Thanks for the report and the pictures of those beautiful sheds.

Glade Park

jaybe,

They were up on Glade Park (Unit 40) not in Estes Park ! Thumbs up There are a lot of elk in this unit, but there is also a ton of private. I have actually given out info to some that have needed help in unit 40, but most will not hunt there becuase it is not elk (looking) country.

When we were coming back from fishing we had seen over sixty deer, but no antlers on there heads. Duh It is time for me to get my rear out there are start putting on some miles on the boots.

My dad has some older friends

My dad has some older friends up there with 160 acres and although they would let us hunt it their middle age children are non hunters and won't allow it. Huh?

He keeps pushing but it's not likely to happen.

Great find Quinton! That

Great find Quinton! That antler in the last pic doesn't have a ton of tine length but the mass at the base and on that first brow tine are impressive.

I'm getting out tomorrow and going shed hunting/turkey scouting/coyote hunting. Hopefully I'll find something nice!

Great looking sheds!!! Don't

Great looking sheds!!! Don't know why he looks so upset. lol

It must be pretty cool to live in an area that you can shed hunt for elk antlers.  Just to find one antler, let alone a matched set of that quality, would be awesome!

Congrats to your cousin.

Now, get yourself out there, find some more, and post up photos!!! Thumbs up
