Hmm...great take, but rather an unfortunate way to take it home. That kind of image probably doesn't further the positive image of hunters to the general public, does it?

I personally like to see antlers and legs sticking out of Pick ups and trailers, as long as the meat doesn't get to much sun. Show us your game so we can rejoice with you.

Well, I personally don't mind seeing it either, but, then again, I'm not a knee-jerk, tree-hugging greenie who think it's OK for animals to hunt people, but not vice-versa.

I'm [very] new to the hunting scene, but it would seem prudent to keep a low profile in order to avoid provoking a visceral reaction from shallow thinkers who want to condemn something before thinking it through entirely.

Perhaps my thinking is colored by living in the People's Republic of California...

I don't mind seeing an animal that someone has taken but I think the guy needs to look into getting a vehicle that tends to be better suited to his hobby. How the heck did he get that up there? Did the car survive the trip? Simply wild.

That elk was taken by a single mother who lives in MT,she probably didnt have access to a truck but made sure she got her meat home any way she could, its not an issue of displaying her kill its a matter of getting some food home for the kids. Thumbs up

It's hard to believe that little Dodge Colt made it all the way with that Big Bull on the roof but according to the article in the Billings paper, I guess it did. If you look close you can see 1x8 Boards underneath it.

This might work:

1. Find relatively level place to work
2. Lay out ropes, straps next to elk on the ground
3. Roll elk onto straps
4. Park car next to elk
5. Roll car over onto elk, tie ropes
6. Roll car-and-elk back onto wheels of car
7. Start car, drive (no fancy driving)

Note: do not stand downhill of the car
