Elk around HWY 2

You guys are talking about Elk in the Snoqualmie GMU. Has anyone hunted that unit from HWY 2? Looks like access is limited but scenery apear productive. Any suggestions?

Elk around HWY 2

Welcome to BGH. I don't hunt up there but hunting was crummy here this year. Had to hunt the Cascades and my son and I saw only one doe. About 8 others in the area and no one was seeing anything. Usially see qiute a few elk around here but haven't seen one at all this year. Don't know what's going on?

I drove around and hiked a little but only saw a few animals so far. No Elk though. Thanks for the response.

Hunting Tip: "Make Your Own" Dominant...

Here is a tip that was passed along to me - and I have not tried it yet - but it looks (and smells) like it will work fine! The gentleman that gave it to me regards it as his secret weapon and he is a VERY successful hunter. Get a fresh tarsal gland off of a decent buck - I think the ranker, the better. Taking them off of bucks that are hot in the rut seem to be the best because that is when the glands are the darkest and have the most "male buck" scent... Take that gland and put it in a good,...
