Ebay

I love Ebay for buying sporting goods. If you havn't checked it out, you need to. I have purchased a lot of things, most recently a brand new Zeiss Scope. All at discounts to retail. Just know your price limitations and check the feedback for Sellers.

I find them more expensive on a lot of things, and the possibility of getting jammed is real high.

Like I said, it pays to know your prices and check the feedback. I may go to a local retailer or catalog to see an item up close, but time and agian I'm buying on ebay and reaping the rwards of bigger savings.

It is possible to get screwed on ebay. There have been some high profile cases of groups of people getting hood winked by one bad seller.

However the single biggest thing you can do to avoid being a victim is to use a credit card for the transaction. Credit card law is strong for the buyer and weak for the seller. If you purchase something via credit card (on-line or off-line) and the seller does not deliver, credit card companies are usually more than willing to charge back the sale. I had this happen once with an on-line retailer, but it was not related to ebay.
