Eastern Washington Elk Calling?

Hey there,

I have been elk hunting in Eastern Wa for 20 years and first off you need to get drawn for a special bull elk permit in the lottery drawing. You purchase this special permit application when you buy your license and tags and then apply online for your preference on where you want to hunt in Ea WA. Then by the end of july the WDFW notifies you if you were drawn or not. If you were successfully drawn then the fun begins. Usually Sept 1st thru October 10th is the best time to call Bulls using a bugle or cow calls. The archery season only goes through Sept 21st, but they are vocal well into October. As far as what time of day is best, If the rut is on then you can call up bulls all day long if you get away from other hunting pressure.

Good Luck!
