Early season rifle hunt successful draw?

Have I been lucky enough to draw an early season early rifle hunt in Colorado with only 2 pref points? I just checked CDOW and I now have 0 pref points for mule deer. The early season hunt was my 1st choice.

How many points did you burn for this hunt? Anyone else successful for the early season and which units?

I guess I now have a reason fro my new Tikka T2 SL in 300 win mag.

I used up all 12,...which was a lot for this unit but i chose it over the weather. I was looking at a fourth season hunt in 36 but the last few years weather patterns have been too warm to be predictable enough to expect good snow to get the truely big guys down to where I can get to them. Up in the high country you don't need the weather...just mule legs!!!...we'll see what happens.

My unit 481 just started the

My unit 481 just started the earl above timber hunt last year. They had 360 hunters applying for 25 tags. Not sure how it went for them. No harvest results yet.

I can do the same hunt with a muzzleloader, and it's much easier to get the tag. I'm also not resticted to just above timber.

Why not? Last year I used my .340 Weatherby shooting 225 grain Barnes bullets. I didn't waisted a bit of meat unless you consider a couple of missing ribs meat.
