Not sure about those specfic units but I represent an outfitter who guides hunts on private land in 73 and 741 in Delores and they took a 206 muley last year out of those units and some good elk also biggest was a 346.

I've never heard of a reference to "big water springs". Can't find anything about it or anybody that has heard of it either. Not saying it doesn't exist, but I just have no idea where that is.

Rico is on the east side of dolores county south of lizard head pass. Cahone and Dove Creek are on the west side. Egnar is just to the north of northwestern dolores county (in san miguel county). Considering that only the middle (around ground hog lake) and western side of dolores county are private I suspect you are probably on the western side. I'd get lat/long coordinates for the cabin then start looking up quads.

As for herd potential, etc, I'd call the DOW office in durango (and know exactly where your at before calling). Perhaps they might be of some help in this area.

The area we will be hunting is Disappointment Creek, just east of the Dolores River Canyon in Central Dolores County. How is the weather for this time of year and what are the prospects for the migration? We are starting to pack and all looking forward to the trip. Thanks for any info......
