Well I am fairly large in stature, 6' 3" 242 pounds, But no thats not my carry weapon. Carry weapon of choice is my p220 Sig in .45 calibre. I like big holes in whatever im shootin at! I carry the S&W for scouting and camping in the big woods. Usually in either a thigh slung holster (combat) or a shoulder rig. The 4 inch Airborn is not as cumbersom as one would think at just around 4 pounds loaded. But she is a beefy critter so not easily hidden, As I said previously. The accuracy is very respectable at 25 yards so its perfect in the case of a bear not bluffing. Shorter to draw than my SRH .44 mag. Much faster to sight down and one HELL of a lot more punch! (on both ends) And if a pot farmer has his eyes seeing down the barrel of that hand cannon he just might think twice about messing with you. And if he dont, then he will just be "twice" the person after you cut him in half with it! Thumbs up

My Colt Walker reproduction only weights half a pound more and if a tried to put it in a holster I'd be wearing my britches around my ankles! Any poor pot farmer would need some of his own product after staring down the barrel of that monster! Laugh

.357 Mag. Don't care about killing it, just want it to go away.

Also depending on the area

Like most forum posters, I also carry an extra pistol in relatively dangerous situations. Mine is the S&W 442. It comes with five rounds and used with.38 caliber. It's not much but has mean firepower that can scare anything (or anyone away) and the 442 is very light that I can move freely.

Usually carry a 9 mm when out scouting when it is warm and I am just zipping around. Once it cools down and the mean animals get hungrier, switch over to the .454 Casull.

Yes I carry a Dan Wesson .357 mag 6 inch barrel with158 grain JHP. A little heavy maybe but always feel better when I have it along. Use to carry a 44 mag but shoot the .357 with more accuracy and for me that's what counts. Here in Colorado mountain lions are common and have little fear of humans. So the .357 goes with me and my boys when ever we venture out in the mountains. Camping Fishing Hunting even hiking the DW always comes along.

sidearm

Yes I carry all the time, just depends on the time of year whats in the holster.During the times when the big guys are about its the 44 redhawk with heavy hard cast, the rest of the time its a S&W 22 Grouse, Ptarmigan ,an bunnies happen anytime,an seasons are long.An if you happen to get between a cow moose an her calf a noise maker with a bite can be a good thing to have along.
