I use to think those guys who said the end of society was near were strange, now I pay attention, too many people, to many dumb laws, to many dumb cops enforceing dumb laws, to many retard Juges, I want to find me a spot up in the mountains and get away from this madness. It is time.

Ironically, I sometimes think a midwest town might be a haven.
You have a point though, it is odd that if an individual willfully takes the life of another, their is debate about whether or not a crime has really been committed, if the perp had "a bad upbringing" or "society screwed'em" or they were hopped up on something at the moment of the act.
However if you feed deer, well, that is definitely a crime (against whom though? society? The deer?).
So I guess all the farmers that grow Hay or Alfalfa will be locked up next. Hey they better get my grandmother too deer eat in her garden all the time.........and I know a lady who feeds turkeys........wow I see there point, there must be an animal feeding mofia out there this is bad.
Consider yourselves lucky if you don't have CWD in your wild herds. I know Bitmasher does as he lives in Colorado. I don't intend to debate the baiting issue here, however I do agree that it needs to be controlled so as to prevent the transmission of this and other diseases. I have seen bait piles in excess of 2 ton with a steady herd of whitetails grazing around it. The deer are heavily congregated and poorly controlled as the bait piles owner is intent on shooting only a trophy buck...Baiting in Wisconsin got way out of control. I'd like to see it brought back in moderation but enforcement is difficult with minimal man power. For now the fear of heavy fines is really the only deterent.
I have seen water holes that were basicly giant mud puddles and for some reason, minerals I suppose, every deer in a 50 mile radius watered there, I would guess that CWD could be spread this way also. Maybe the DNR could vacinate by a feed type of vacination CWD into oblivion, as smallpox was . Just a rambling thought.
I learned this the hard way last year. If you're hunting in an area with lots of bear activity, it's a great idea to stash your food and water up in a tree. I like to wrap everything in a tarp and tie it between two trees. Don't just tie it up in one tree but tie it in between two trees at least 15 feet in the air. I thought I had my backpacking camp's food supply stashed pretty well last year. I returned to camp during the first weekend of archery to find all my food destroyed. Make sure...
