I am sure this has been asked several times. Me and 2 of my buddies are looking at doing a traditional bowhunt for speed goats in WY. This will be the first time any of us have been out west hunting. We are used to hunting white-tails her in Michigan. We have just started planning and would like to hear what you guys have to recommend on areas and seasons. We are talking about applying for the early bow only season in areas around Casper or Buffalo. We would like to get and area with a high probability of getting drawn for next fall 2009. Our plan as of now is we would drive out from Michigan and camp for a week either in a camp ground or on some public land if they allow camping. We are up for spot and stalk type hunting or sitting in blinds over watering holes. If I have left anything out please ask and if there is any tips on planning that most people forget about that would be helpful as well. We are attempting to do this on as small of a budget as we can so we are not looking for anything guided. Just mainly a fun trip with a couple friends out west. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
