what would be a reasonable distance to sight in a scope?? im looking at hunting around spokane, yakima, or even the hanford area for elk/deer. some say 100 yards but yet some say 200 yards that ive talked too. should i just go with 150yards?
I site with the same method as Don.
It will be around 2" high at 100 yds, with a high powered bolt action. Put you around 220 to 240 yd zero. Point and aim out to 280 to 310 yds.

the bullet im shooting now is Federal Power Shock at 180 grains. Velocity is at 2470 @ 100 and 2250@200. there is a apx drop of -4.2.. i also want to switch to 160 or 165 grain and im not sure what their specs are but i know it has a less of a drop.. plus soon im going to be reloading, well my buddy and i are anyways.
