Democrats Refuse to Allow Monckton to Testify With Gore

Q1 They're not.

It's like 9/11 conspiracy nuts, no time to waste on whackos, if you pro pollution types are so grounded in the fact based community just publish your results and make history, otherwise keep shouting at pasersby.

Q2 You're right, it is.

Pogo, just in case you haven't figured this out, not believing in Gore's pseudo-science global warming theories does not equate to being pro pollution. Where did you even get such a whacked idea? Many of us have stated repeatedly on this forum that we support being good stewards of our earth.

Pogo, you're wrong on question 1 -- they pulled the plug on having Gore and Monckton both testifying. Remember how this thread got started? You can't just say "they're not" and rewrite history.

And if it's so easy to discount these people, why won't they do it? Saying "it is' doesn't make it so. None of the global warming cultists are willing to entertain an actual debate over the science.

No time to debate...yeah, right. Gore's a lawyer with a B.A. in Government. That hardly makes him an expert on climatology. A real scientist would wipe the floor with him, and he knows it.

What he does seem good at, however, is snake oil sales. When Bush was sworn in back in 2001, Gore's net worth was an estimated $1 million. By the end of 2007, his net worth had jumped to around $100 million.

How do you think he earned that money? And how much interest do you think he has in actual science? Looks to me like when he was studying religion at Vanderbilt he stumbled across L. Ron Hubbard's quote: "If you want to make a little money, write a book. If you want to make a lot of money, create a religion.”

Expatriate you misunderstand, I'm the one who doesn't have time, not Gore.

First the $100 million stuff.

I keep telling you don't lxx, don't use lxxxs as sources.

Look 25 years ago there might have been serious people who would consider your viewpoints. That was then, this is now. You are welcome to join the folks down in Roswell New Mexico, or the flat earthers, but we have an earth to clean up. And yes Cowgal when you promote spewing toxins into the air and water I call you pro polution. Being a good steward involves more than keeping the cow/bull ratio at optimum levels.

I entered Mokton Gore and Testify into google and I pulled up a bunch of righty propaganda web sites all shouting at once. Please don't waste my time. I scanned 5 pages of Google and couldn't find one reputable source that went with the story. The US senate is not the place to bring nutters, we have plenty of public spaces for them elsewhere.

Oh, and about China, Yes they have terrible polution and are the largest CO2 emitter. They also are putting a new clean coal powered plant on line at the rate of one a month. They will become the worlds leader of LED lights next year, China doubles it's power from wind every year and will surpass the US as the largest market for wind equipment this year. There are no Gopasaurs in China.

The world looked at the data 25 years ago and have moved on. The US with our entrenched corprate sector and their campaign donations made global warming into a cultural issue. Terrible mistake for those who joined them. Now school children know about global warming and it makes those who deny it look like ludites.

I particularly like the part about the US Senate not being the place to bring "nutters." Then how do you explain Harry Reid?

Once again, Pogo is putting limitations on sources and telling me where I can get information. Here's a clue, Pogo -- it's a free country and you have no right to dictate where I get my information. Nor do you have the ability to stop me from finding it or thinking for myself. At least, not yet you don't. But I'm sure that's an Orwellian Utopia you dream about at night.

And by the way...while you're blathering about how green China is, it increased its oil product consumption 12 percent in 2008 while US consumption decreased. Between 2000 and 2008, China's crude oil imports quadrupled.

Although it may be true that per capita energy use by Chinese is still lower than Americans, its energy consumption is accelerating rapidly with the growth of its industrial sector and a growing middle class that wants consumer products and automobiles.

But you're right, Pogo. There is no GOP in China. And we all know how much China loves free thinking, don't we? Let's see...Tiananmen square, Falun Gong, literary and internet censorship, the one child policy, oppression of Tibet, restrictions on movement, State control of everyone and everything, support for Sudan's genocidal regime, etc. It's your kind of place!

But overall, JTap, I read Pogo's drivel and just LMAO. Keep it up, Pogo...I need the entertainment.

Why does it not surprise me that he would hold up China as a shining example of society to emulate. Only the most brutal regime to exist since Hitler and Stalin came and went. By the way it's pollution not polution.

Al Gore donates his income to charity...oh, that's rich. Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh

And the 10,000 square foot mansion with the $30,000 utility bill? The $35 million hedge fund investment? Traveling by private jet? Oh, yeah...he's Mother Teresa. Just ask him.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a7li9Nhmhvg0

Media matters says right up front that it's a "progressive" think tank, and it has strong ties to Clinton crony John Podesta and MoveOn.org -- hardly an unbiased source. And by the way, the link you posted doesn't actually dispute Gore's net worth -- it just accuses Ingraham of "smearing" Gore by pointing it out. In fact, Gore admits his wealth, then tries to say it doesn't exist by claiming that he donated proceeds from the book and movie to the Alliance for Climate Protection, which wasn't even formed until 2006 -- well after he was raking in the dough.

Pointing out a fact isn't a "smear."

What Gore doesn't talk about is where that $100 million came from. He says "investments", but what investments is he talking about? Let's examine this on a theoretical level. Suppose I invest $100,000 in a firm, then go out and publish a book and a movie convincing the world that that little firm has the key to the future. As a result, the firm's stock goes from $1.50 a share to $75 a share and the value of my porfolio jumps from $100K to $5 million without even accounting for stock splits. I then donate the million bucks I made from the book and movie to a "charitable" organization I create to generate favorable publicity for my company.

I then go to Congress and crow about how pious I am because I donated every penny of the book and movie money to charity.

What a scam.

What exactly was all that trying to say Expatriate?

Are you trying to say Gore doesn't donate the proceeds from the movie and his speaking to charity? Any sources?

That's exactly what I mean about the fact based community.

Gore is rich, his dady was rich, his family is rich, have been fo evah. So what. Doesn't mean he can't make a movie and donate the profit to charity. Please don't waste my time with weirdo inuendo.

yes media matters is financed by John Podesta, their raison d'etre is to fight untrue statements as soon as they appear on Fox. It is as they say a target rich environment. Do they say anything untrue? I didn't think so. Often when you make an outrageous statement that I think sounds very suspicious, I go there to find out how it all began and by who. Maybe you ought to check before posting. Remember the field mice and high speed rail to Vegas? Acorn cencus?

PS what's all that stuff about "starting a firm for 100k and promoting via movie and reaping a profit blah blah blah. Trying to tell me Gore has a wind turbine company? Suppose he was a vampire, suppose he could ride a broom and fly, suppose suppose whatever. Good gosh darn grief. Talk about strawmen.
