Is this deer wounded?

Found a white tail deer bed today with some blood at the end of the bed (maybe a 1/4 cup's worth?).

NO blood in thd tracks going to the bed or coming from it.  Tracks look normal - no drag, no limp.  NO blood.  There is snow on te ground so blood would be easy to see.

I thought the deer must be gut shot.

My hunting partner thinks its a doe having a menstruel cycle.

What do you think?

That's a hot doe that didn't

That's a hot doe that didn't get breed the first time around. We have does that go thru as many as four cycles a year before getting breed.
The second rut can be a very productive time to hunt especially when you find that kind of sign. The bigger bucks seem to fight more at this time because there is more competition for the hot does.
Stay on her track and show us a pic of the big buck that tries to breed her. Good luck! Thumbs up

Thanks guys

Thanks guys, that's a new one on me.  I saw 9 does and one other identified deer (saw only the back end) but I was looking for a wounded deer and didn't find one.

No buck was following any of those girls either, but hopefully she gets bred and drops twins next spring.
