Deer processing in MD

Just moved to Montgomery County from Texas. I got lucky and happened to score about 60 acres of private land to hunt from a friend of a friend of a friend (I know, it's complicated) in Upper Marlboro (Prince Georges County). I was amazed to learn that antlerless deer is limitless! So I setup my stand and looking to get out there this weekend.

The problem I am having is locating a place to have the deer processed once I harvest it (thinking positive). Does anyone know of a place to process deer in either Montgomery or Prince Georges Co? The only ones I have been able to locate are way up on Baltimore. Would appreciate any help or info you can offer. Would hate to go out there without a plan as to where I am getting it processed.

What part of TX? It's kind of funny, I moved from Montgomery County TX, to Montgomery County MD. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you except without the nice private land score, Ive been scouting some of the public lands out here. If anyone can help out with a reputable processor in central MD that'd be great for me too.

Found one!

Moved here from Bexar County (San Antonio). The difference in weather is amazing. No more sweating my ass off during bow season! What public areas have you been scouting out? How are they looking? Do you need to obtain a permit to hunt them or just show up with a license?

So I got a card from the sales person in the hunting dept at Dick Sports for a processor in Silver Spring. He said he has used him for the past 3 yrs and likes his work. I called him and he is still operational and accepting deer this season. Here is his info....

Thanks Man! That's good info and much appreciated.

Some public land is open access, some is by lottery.

I've been out at Patuxent River State Park...it's open access. I have no idea of the amount of people, but there was plenty of deer sign. Unfortunately I'm out of town (married/honeymoon) for the next 3 weeks, so I'll be missing the early going. By the shape of the trails, few people make the effort to get in deep out there, so that could be a plus.

Anyway, I marked a few trees out there on my GPS(have a climbing stand) and I'll give them a go when I get back and let you know.
