Its according to where you live and the hunting pressure...Deer have been known to live as long as 15 years but this is by FAR not a common thing

I think I read of a deer that lived ot 23 in captivity but in the wild most deer do not make it past 6 to 8 years of age. Rarely they will make it to 14 or 15 years of age.

About 75% of the bucks harvested every year are only yearlings. Most deer are not considered trophy quality until they are 4 to 6 years of age.

In really bad winters the big old trophy bucks tend to fall into the high mortality rate due to their poor physical condition after the rut.
