Congratulations on a great

Congratulations on a great hunt. I am sure we will hear more stories after your rifle hunts. My son has been out archery hunting for elk. He has seen elk each day but either to far away or not a ethical shot. We leave Friday for our smoke pole hunt, getting itchy!

Sean,

There is nothing better then a archery buck in the freezer !

SGM,

Good luck on your muzzy hunt and your sons elk hunt. I hope to see some great pics and read a great story when you return.

Congrats to you and your's on another great hunt! I've been on the mountain since last friday. Glassed up a legal 4x raghorn Sunday evening stalked within a hundred yards and cow called and wouldn't you know he came in behind me and busted me. Got a strong response this evening right at dark to a locator bugle before heading down to camp. He was close maybe 300 yards. Going after him tomorrow morning and see if I can work up a shot. Been seeing a lot of 2 and 3 point bucks and finally saw monster mulie tonight on a ridge above me. Had to remind myself I got that late season eastern plains archery tag and not be too bummed I couldn't try for him. Had a close encounter with a beautiful blonde bear but couldn't get a shot. Good luck to you on your future hunts and everyone else heading out! Been on the mountain by myself since Friday and loving it!

Quinton - Nice buck! Looks

Quinton - Nice buck! Looks like a good shot!! I love the first fresh deer steaks of the season. Enjoy the rest of your hunts. I have 74 days until I deer hunt, I'm not counting though.

Quinton, Congrats on another

Quinton, Congrats on another successful hunt. That buck looks like he'll be better eaten than the last bucks you've killed. Good luck filling your other tags. I'll finally be chasing them in the morning. Tyson

Congrats

Congrats on the kills and on the huge hunting family you have there. Also, someone mentioned a smoke pole hunt? what is that? I'm assuming an area the fires went through?

A smoke pole is a reference

A smoke pole is a reference to a muzzle loader. If you even fire one you will understand why.
