Deer Hoist Ideas

When the weather is cool enough I hang our deer in the garage for a few days before butchering them. I need to rig up some kind of device for lifting deer to hang them from the garage ceiling. ( Not as strong as I use to be.) There may be several deer hanging at the same time. Any ideas?

...I have fashioned several hangars made like a clothes hangar that we use to hang the deer with on one we use a hoist which is a manual crank from a boat trailer on the other a small electric winch just need a pully on the top they both work great and you can lower or raise while skinning !

I use the four pulley hoist like this one:

Takes very little effort to lift a deer Yes

I'm with redrider.....works great.

I also made my own gambrels for extra deer. I use 1/2" X 1 1/2" steel tubing with "U" bolts welded on each end. Then I hit 'em with a grinder to put a bit of a point on the end.

Lift it up with the hoist, tie it off, then move on to the next deer.
