Deer Dog Question

I would like to know if anybody knows of what kind of dog would make a good trailing dog for downed deer ?Also how would you go about training the dog to go about finding a downed deer?

I have no practical experience with this, but it is my understanding that blue ticks (coonhounds) are a good breed for blood tracking (they've got a nose for it).

hello im from north carolina.alote of people here use a jack russle terriar .there very smart and easy to train. I use a old beagle ive had for about 10 years hes prolly found a hundred or so for me and friends althought ive never saw any other beagle do it.my beagle (buster) has never let me down.IF HE DONT FIND IT.IT AINT DEAD
