If you just put the feeder up, that might be the problem. If they are being pressured, they may just hang tight on the neighbors land until the hunting season is over. They may also be hitting the feeder at night. Keep at it though. As the season winds down and the deer get less pressure, they'll likely come in. The feeder is benefiting other wildlife in the area, so don' think of it as a waste. I think the best time to start a feeder is in the early spring. That way the deer can develope a pattern. However, the santuary of the neighbors property might be tough to overcome. Think about easing hunting on your property, creating cover for them on your property, and a food plot. Deer need Food, water and shelter, just like we do. Having as many of those on your property will help you retain resident deer.
