Around here in Ontario, it is usually dark by 8pm this time of year, so I was wondering what time you evening hunters would try to be in your stands at the lastest. I like to head in around 2:30 - 3:00 in the afternoon, but my hunting partener likes to head in later 4:30 - 5:00 pm. He tends to get restless after sitting fo any great length of time.

The bears we are hunting are hitting are baits constantly, it just happens to be when were not there. We are gonna set a couple of Moultrie 1.3 digital cams up to see what time the bears are feeding at our bait sites. Hopefully if these bears are nocturnal the flash from the cams might spook the bear enough that they might start coming out in legal shooting hours.

Any suggestions you guys can think of, it's getting frustrating. Our sites are being hit very hard, baits always eaten, trees are clawed to hell, signs everywhere, but still no bear sightings...

the bears know you are there . your scent is still strong, by going in a little earlier ( around 2:00) that will give your scent a little time to dissapate. have you tried a honey burn?If your bears are coming in at night they are usually bigger and more experinced. do you put in fresh bait when you go in? I always add something to the pile to spark curiosity this week end it was orange juice and a rasberry tea burn, I was in my stand for about 45 min and in walked a bear

hey sounds kinda intresting but how do you get campers to stay away from your bait site. also if there's alot of traffic in your area like atvs and truck hunters do you think the bears would leave the area.
