This evenings hunt brought

This evenings hunt brought more of the same. However,as a result of moving my stand 4 feet higher, I was able to see thru the hedgerow to the neighbor's corn field. You know it. The deer were piling out of the woods into the corn field. I figured as much. Hopefully, he'll be selective in what he shoots and let the immature bucks walk.
Another perk from this increase in elevation, I get another bar of reception. Hahaha

A quick update from the dtand

A quick update from the dtand this morning. I saw a mature doe and a yearling on the way in as it was creaking light. It wasn't legal shooting tome yet so I watched thru my binoculars as she off into the cutover. I figured that would happen after my late start. She saw me moving but couldn't pick me out once I stopped. If I would have been on time, I think she would have fed by my stand after shooting time. Oh well, maybe next time.
On a brighter note, I discovered some fresh bear tracks on the way in to my stand. Even in the predawn darkness, I could tell they were bear tracks. And I know they were made last night because they weren't there yesterday evening. Got to go. It sounds like the bear hunters have the dogs out tracking. Thumbs up

thanks for the update. It's

thanks for the update. It's amazing how just changing stand height just a little can change what you see sooo much. It's always exciting to see bear tracks too. Sounds like you are seeing a lot of deer, so I can't wait to see the first pictures. Good Luck.

The deer sightings have been

The deer sightings have been down this week. I think it's because of all the "traffic" from the bear hunters. They have killed 6 bears since Monday. One weighted at 510 lbs.
Hopefully, I can hook up with them before Saturday. They know I'm a big deer hunter so they have tried not to ruin my hunting.

I saw the same two does from

I saw the same two does from yesterday morning about 15 minutes ago. As a result of the decline in daytime activity where I have been hunting, I'm going to switch stands. I think it's time to get closer to the doe bedding areas in hopes of ... Got to go, buck...

Well, the ice has been

Well, the ice has been broken! I shot a nice 8 pointer. He isn't the biggest buck I've shot but it's venison in the freezer. It looks like it will be deer chops for supper.
I'll post some pics later. Good luck everyone.

Awesome Ecu!  Congrats, get the photos up!!!!

I actually applied for a job a few years back in Raleigh.  My father-in-law lives in Charlotte, so I had my wife convinced to try and move there.  Didn't get it, but I was hoping at the time,...... Yes

I didn't get back to town to

I didn't get back to town to post any pics. After I cleaned the deer, chilled the meat in my cooler and took the cape to the taxidermist, it was time to head to the stand.
I saw some more turkeys this morning, all hens.
During my walk back to the truck, I found a dead button buck. He hasn't been dead more than 12 hours, I'm guessing. There wasn't any smell or any insects on the carcass. His hooves look ok, so I don't think it was blue-tongue. He seemed to be in good condition, no ribs showing. So I don't know how he died. I have seen some wild dogs lately though. Don't know.
Oh, no blackberry here. Too hard to manipulate. Only the iPhone is this smooth. Hahaha
I'll post pics later. Good luck
