D16 - CLEVELAND NATIONAL FOREST CLOSURE

Read it in the San Diego Union Tribune - Cleveland Nat'l Forest is closed to all foot traffic until sufficient winter rains have occured (aka: never).

Well folks, that leaves... oh... just about nowhere for us to hunt in San Diego!

Double check what you read, though it would'nt surprise me. However, they were to originally close ONLY the portion SOUTH of I8 as of Monday the 27th.[/img]

Ah... Thanks for catching that, Knobs. I had read the article while on break at work, so it's quite possible I missed that portion of it. I'll see what else I can find on the net.

Thanks!

PS - Where are you "on loan" from?

How about near lake Cayamaca(Sp?), down by Julian area?

I was camping there a few years ago and there were a lot deer, and the park ranger told me that they are going to open it up for hunting.

Then again I wouldn’t surprise if they didn’t.

i know there are some areas of Cuyamaca that burned in the Wildfires. I have a couple of friends that had tree stands for bow season up there. I don't know how successful they were in the past, or what areas of Cuyamaca they hunted (I didn't ask the location of their hunting grounds). I'm certain that Every year someone takes a buck out of there. They must.
