We just use the old tape player and tape trick. Our decoys are fully body plastic. They work great. We use 5 or 6 of them.
The only advice I can give is be totally camoflaged, concealed, and don't move!
Those things eyes are unbelieveable. Just be patient and let 'em have it when they come in low enough. They are tough.
I have never really used hand calls while crow hunting. I guess they would work, but the tape player will be your major tool.

I love hunting crows as a matter of fact i feel like it some of the best wing shooting there is.We have a old camo jeep rigged with a sterio like a teenager might have but we use old load speakers out of business.like the ones they use on a car lot .The thing is it doesnt take much money to become a crow hunter hell before we could get decoys we would use our dead crows. The old jeep works great because we can stay on the move.crows seem to figure out your location quick but you can move 300 yrds and call the same crows right back (its a blast). Some weekends we may cover 50 miles and kill 100 or more crows. Most farmers love for someone to come in and have a crow shoot. All we do is drive the old jeep under some cover spread out and turn on the CD.My wife thinks im crazy as hell but theres not much i dont hunt!!! as for guns id pick the 12 with #6 shot
PS from turkeys ,deer ,rabbit ,squirl ,coon, dove, duck ,crow, and even bowfishing I can always find something to hunt.DAMN (LIFE IS GOOD)

Give it a whirl sometime, you'll be hooked. I've been at it since 1974, gets in your blood when they come in raising hell. Stickum that jeep set-up sounds alright! BTW, they're also some real fine eating, to me they taste like dove.

CROWS

crow hunting is great for late season hunts when all other game animals are closed. We have a blast here in NY. We usually set up in a field with decoys and an OWL decoy. We also use MOJO Motion Crow decoys. The spinning wings simulates a crow comming in to land in the spread. It's very similar to waterfowl hunting in fields. Our best day we took 100 crows in 8 hours with 3 gunners! That was alot of shooting! It helps keep your shooting eye in tune for other more desireable hunts. Great for Training retreivers too. Here's my 6 month old Golden on his first hunt this past march. He brought us his first crow. He'll be ready for Sept Goose1

Good hunting!

Use your tape player and every so often blow a few times on the hand call this helps change up the flow of the tape.

Use an owl decoy where they can see it but only when your'e playing an owl vs. crow fight tape.

We have always use full body decoys and when you shoot a crow use it for a decoy.

With either of those guns I wouldn't try out past 40 yards but if you shoot when they're that far away the flock will turn back just wait till there right over you.
And don't shoot the first crow that comes in that's the "scout" as we call him let him fly over and see the owl and decoys then the flock will come in.
