We have a ton of coyotes and it's starting to get ridiculous how many pets and baby cows we are losing. Can we get a permit to shoot a bunch of them? There are tons out around the house and we hear them from all directions. Any ideas? I am in California.

I'm not from California but where ever I have hunted them in Utah, Colorado, and Arizona all you need to do it go out and start shooting. They are considered a varmit and no permit or license is necessary.
You might give your local Game and Fish office a call and see just what is required for you to shoot them. At least that way you will get the information first hand and not have to depend on what someone else said the law was.

- (a) The following nongame birds and mammals may be taken at any time of the year and in any number except as prohibited in Chapter 6: English sparrow, starling, coyote, weasels, skunks, opossum, moles and rodents (excluding tree and flying squirrels, and those listed as furbearers, endangered or threatened species).
