Here's a coyote at 330 yards ... encountered out elk hunting the other day ...

The video shows I held about 18 inches high, when I should have held about 16 ...

Perhaps we'll meet again.

Proof of the one that got away!!

Were you taping from a tripod or was someone else doing the camera?

I was staking out a field that occaisionally attacts elk. Since it's the fringe of farmland, the elk are not as near bothered by vehicles as they are out-of-vehicle humans, so I was watching from my vehicle. (Right before season a cow elk walked right up to my rig at the edge of the field ... and I have glassed bull elk in the field - which generally don't get too disturbed as long as I'm in my rig.) A coyote also came to watch, from the other side of the field. I generally don't blaze away at coyotes when I'm big game hunting - but with only literally a couple minutes of legal shooting hours left - and no elk - I decided to quick set up my tripod, attach cam, zoom in on the coyote, grab my rifle, load, hit the record button on the cam, got prone - and you see the rest.

wow them things go faster than i remember after a bullet zooms by. and cant blame you for a miss because its not easy to shoot when its dark.

Thanks for the note ... maybe I should grab my rifle and go and see if he's still out there somewhere.

I think you got this wrong. What you must have been doing was running the camera while your buddy did the shooting. Don't you fish????????????? Thumbs up

hmmmm ... duck season has closed, and I'm going thru withdrawal ... maybe some coyote hunting could assuage the pain.
