Cooper Arms donates to Obama.

About Cooper.

Two seconds on Google suggests he donated in the primaries and again in the general. He resigned or was fired, or that's what I read. Typical of rabid wing nuts, can't abide someone having an opinion other than thier own. The over the top reaction of people who just because they disagree with someones politics wish to also destroy their business. Of course Cooper is thinking of all the people who work for him, wants to protect the jobs and livelihoods that those Montanans depend on. Who says Republicans don't "destroy people's lives on a personal level because I disagree wth heir politics".

Does Cooper still like making fine rifles? Are his rifles as good as they were yesterday? Is Obama a far more qualified candidate in all respects to be President of the United States? Yes to all three.

I repeat my challenge from earlier posts.../ and say a single thing critical of Obama -- a single point of doctrine or act that you disagree with

Health care should be universal.

His early stance on Social Security wasn't well thought out, reflected typical view of Washintonians who wanted to sound "serious" about SS. Never asked a real mathemetician to look at things, or an economist. It is absolutely sound and funded through at least 46 without any changes at all, perhaps with luck and a growing number of workers far beyond that.

I was prepared to call Cooper Arms to let them know that I will not purchase another Cooper firearm, but then I saw Redriders post.

A person has a right to donate to whomever they want and I have a right to do business with anyone I want.

To bad they fired him. Had they stood by him I would have strongly considered or felt an obligation to purchase one of their rifles. That they fired him over this ensures I will never buy one of their rifles.

I don't agree with you. Cooper is dumb enough to support an anti gun candidate and dumb enough to get caught doing it and getting fired.

They had to fire him as the majority of gun owners see a 'Cooper' as not one of us.

You don't have to (agree with me). I stated my view on that matter and I respect your right to yours.

Well I'm reluctant to say this but... A heck of a lot of employees of Remington and Winchester and others also contributed to the Obama campaign. They also might well use a lot of union labor. Get over it.

Cooper's firing may have lost SoCo's business, but it saved the company. The lessons of Smith & Wesson ring loud and clear -- betray your customers, and they'll abandon you.

As far as union support of Obama goes, just why is that? Oh, yeah...Obama's support of doing away with workers' rights to decide unionization issues via private ballot. Such ballots have defeated unions in the past, because workers might express support for a union in the face of peer and union pressure, but vote their conscience in the private vote. Obama's union backing hinges on his support of the ironically titled "Employee Free Choice Act", which would require employees to decide union votes by signing cards -- which would open them up to bullying by union supporters. In other words, he doesn't want people to vote in private -- he wants it public so people can be intimidated.

Do you have a source for this statement or is it just conjecture on your part?

I understand your view perfectly as it is basically the same as mine, just a mirror image. I own a Cooper rifle but would never consider purchasing another if Dan Cooper was part of the company so I can understand why his firing is cause for you not to consider them for a future purchase.

Kind of makes me sad that the Cooper rifle is pictured in my antelope pic in the antelope forum. Nice rifle but now tainted by Dan Cooper's action (which he had every right to do).

Okay, okay, if you hate the rifle that much now cause of what it symbolizes to you go ahead and send it my way. Big smile

That was a nice looking goat and rifle and I'll try and tag a few more with it.

Just kidding of course as I know good ol expat will try to construe this as something serious and negative about me. Laugh
