Conversation with a D about Obama

Thanks, Bunny, for pointing out the obvious -- the most left wing guy on the board revealing his complete ignorance of history. I've said it before -- every significant dictatorship in the last 100 years has come from the left.

The reason is simple. Political models range between two poles. On the right side, there is belief in the individual. At its extreme end, for example, would be anarchy where there are no rules whatsoever. On the left is belief in the State. At its extreme end is totalitarianism. The farther left you go, the more rules are imposed on the individual for the benefit of the state.

This is why you see an increasing intolerance for free speech and self-protection as you move toward the left. Such things are anathema to leftists. It's all about limiting the individual in order to shore up the State. This fear and distrust of individuals is what invariably leads far-left governments to do things like round up political dissidents, control the media, nationalize private property, build walls to keep people in, etc.

I usually don't talk politics, but it truly amazes me that there are hunters that are democrats(especially when SoCo and civetcat are so far left), Not all dems are so far left just to get that out. I'm repub, it truley seems that common sense with these two has truley gone out the window. How are you going to hunt when Obama takes your guns and hunting places away, and don't tell me that it would never happen. They sure are working on it already. Most goverment officials can't be trusted the lot of them need booted out get some new blod in there. It's all about MONEY and POWER! Were did all the COMMONSENSE in this great land go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, the bush admin did more to erode hunting lands especially here in Colorado then anyone else in the last twenty years. The repub party manipulates you to vote for them with the 'the evil heathen dems will steal your guns and bibles' and you fall for it hook line and sinker. Obama's President and I've not lost a gun yet and will be buying one in the next week or two. In the next two years I'll likely have two or three more. What excuse will you use to tell me when I'll own more guns then I do now and what you have said hasn't come to pass? Work on it you've got the next four years to perfect that excuse.

Take care!

Calling someone a pervert and in the same breath complaining about one being condescending! You attempt to debate but always quickly fall back to complaining about the meanies on the other side while throwing out hostile barbs.

Once again you chime in with half truths and accusations.
I never complained about anything.
This was his answer to a comment that I typed using the EXACT same words as he has did in many, many posts.
Why did you not come to my aid when he said I was ignorant with pride for posting EXACTLY what he has?
I never called anyone a pervert.
I did ASK if he was a pervert for asking about my kids.
As I see it it is none of anybody's concern about my kids unless that is the topic of discussion, which it is not in this case as the topic is A conversation with a D about Obama.

Meanie !!

Oh, my bad, you didn't 'call' him a pervert, you just 'asked' if he was one. Ha, funny stuff there. He said you were ignorant with pride??? That dirty bun of a sitch he's done, I tell ya! Thumbs up

Just funning with you JTap.

Heavens to Betsy, Obama's job approval ratings are dropping faster than... well.... fill in your own alalogy.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/116026/Assessing-Obama-Job-Approval-One-Month...

When broken down into identifiers we get him actually going up with all Democrats including moderates like SoCal and conservatives like yours truly, even going up amongst independents, and that leaves those 8 guys down in Alabama or someplace.

Down 6% amongst liberal and moderate Republicans. (how a self identified liberal Republican hasn't made the leap yet I just don't know) and a whopping 14% drop amongst conservative Republicans. If he's pissing off conservative Republicans I'd say he's doing things just about right. Time to go out and buy some more gunz.

Oh, yeah...doing a great job. The Dow drops more every time he opens his mouth. Yep, he's ticking off the "fatcat" Republicans...and the upper class Republicans...and the middle class republicans...and upper and middle class Democrats...and the Libertarians...and probably the Amish. But I'll bet his numbers are going up with every social parasite that looks to the taxpayers to bail him out of bad financial decisions.

Pol Pot, Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse-Tung, and Hugo Chavez would all agree with you that sticking it to the rich and educated classes is what's best for society.

Dang...the Dow's down another 250 points as the administration tries to argue that all that talk of nationalizing banks doesn't mean anything. That's only about 2,000 points since the innauguration.

Obama needs to pull his head out of his a$$ and realize that he's blowing it in terms of giving the country a reason to do anything but hang on to their dollars.

ABC Washington Post out today too.

"Two out of three poll respondents said they want Democrats and Republicans to cooperate across party lines, even if that means compromising on important issues. And most, nearly three in four, said Obama is trying to reach across the partisan divide, while nearly six in 10 respondents said that Republicans are not returning the gesture."

60% approval of his handling of the economy at a time when we're still looking for the bottom.

There's a link to the raw data there. I think on that whole stimulous thing he played the wingnuts like so many stringed instruments. To many eyes he looked silly while continuously reaching out, getting nowhere, garnering just enough votes to passs, and doing the whole thing in 3 weeks, Now he's set up for health care, and Repub governors are splitting off from the hard liners making whoever's left look like the obstructionists they are.

The 24/7 propaganda of Faux, MSNBC, CBS etc has hurt him with the extreme right but only helped with the other 3/4 of the population.

Expat I'd suggest you look more carefully at the data and quit all that Pol Pot, Robert Mgabe shouting stuff. The trend lines are up amongst all income classes for the past couple of weeks. The country is pulling together to fix some horrific problems. Too bad everyone can't work together.

Civet, I suggest you read up on Pol Pot and Mugabe. Based on your other posts, I understand them a whole lot better than you do.

Sorry Expat but didn't you know Pol Pot was a Nazi? Additionaly I apparently advocate the slaughter of Jews. Makes me wonder if the Khmer Rouge were Armed with semi auto converted carbines. (sorry I couldn't resist). Also why is it that Civet is completely unable to post anything without adding a link to something. Does the left have so much trouble with original thought that his every response has to be with an attached link, 5 graph charts and a spreadsheet?

Expat the topic of this thread is Conversation with a D about Obama. If you would confine your rantings to the topic it would be helpfull. As I said I spent time in Cambodia when Pol Pot still controlled large parts of the country. I doubt I need to be informed by you. You seem a little too interested in bloodthirsty dictators, might want to have a long talk with a proffessional about that.

Bunny Boarder when making statements it's good to link a reputable source where the basics of the idea can be read about. It's a common thing with forums or even good online news media. The fact based community uses, well, facts. If you care to educate yourself or see if I'm quoting from the Wing Nut Daily, follow the link, if not, well you know where to file it.

The last poll from today, getting back on topic, is from the NYT/CBS. The articlal is ok. sorry boarder here I go.

All I can say is I hope this keeps up for another year and a half.

CVC correcting spelling on a web forum is generaly thought of as being idiotic, says more about the corrector than the misspeller. Carry on.
