Recovering from back surgery and have been surfing the web in search of powder and bullets!! I can say that I need to stay off this damn thing because I have spent over $ 600 bucks in 2 days finding powder and bullets for reloading!! Finding powder here and there, but would like to buy more to make it cheaper! With that hazmatt fee you need to buy 5 or 6 pounds at a time to make it cheaper!!! Hope everyone is having fun in the off season working up loads for their favorite guns!! When I can stand for extended length of time I will be busy, like most of you!!

I never bought hazmat items.
I never bought hazmat items. I heard that the cost was relatively high but, what was the haz mat fee?

The last time that I had to
The last time that I had to order some powder through a catalog the hazmat shipping fee was a extra $10.00 but now I see that it has gone up to $20.00. When I ordered some powder I ordered 4 8 pound cans of it just to bring the cost down some. I did get a couple of friends to go along with me on it so it didn't hurt too bad.
Now if you are ordering primers that extra $20.00 will add up fast and you have to pay double if you are ordering primers and powder on the same order.
If I was you I would see if I could find it locally or if someone is headed to the bigger city and only use the catalog as a last ditch source.

The fee is 27.50. So you want to buy at least 4 or 5 lbs at a time. You can have a total of 50 lbs but can't mix primers and powder. Some of these local places have powder at 26.99 a lbs and if I find it for 21 on the Web it is worth it. Good idea to have your friends purchase with you! I am about stocked up!! Just trying to find Retumbo and can't!!! Maybe I will get lucky here soon!! Wanting to try out my 200gr. LRX bullets. My problem is my powder eating guns. I get 64 rounds out of a pound. If I could find it locally I would. No one has it on hand and they have no clue what is going to show up!!! I was at Sportsmans when I guy rolled up with a cart full. Mostly all Varget and IMR3031. Limit of 2 skews. It was gone in a hour. Nothing I needed! They do not even bother putting it on the shelf, just left it in the cart.

I feel your pain on the
I feel your pain on the powder. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, and the 2 local shops that carry powder never have what I need. A road trip to either Denver or Grand Junction is about the same distance and then there is still no powder or primers. I'll be over in Denver in April and hope to stock up on a few items if there are any on their shelfs.
I was just looking at some reloading supplies last night for my .45 Long Colt. By the time that I was done I would of spent $300.00 and still not have any bullets to put in the cases. I'm still on the good side for my other pistols and rifles since I stocked up when I could a couple of years ago.

Componets do you use for the 45 LC ? Since I am home bound for a while I can watch and catch stuff when it sneaks in!!! Does Gene Taylors carry much ??? Let me know and hopefully we can make your trip to Denver bountiful.

If you are talking about Gene
If you are talking about Gene Taylors in Grand Junction they have gone out of business. It looks like Sportsmans and Cabela's finaly got them to close their doors. The last time that I was in there last year they didn't have anything that you would really want to buy. They may still have a store in Fruita and Delta but I'm not sure. I'm not worried about the componets for my .45 too much. I have enough other rounds loaded up that it can go on the back burner for a while. I keep hoping that Sportsmans Wharehouse will open up a store in Glenwood Springs but I'm not holding my breath on that one but it would be nice.
I do have a email notification set up with Natchez Shooters Supply when they get some bullets in so I'll just wait. When I hit Denver I have a few gun shops that I can stop by and check out and see what they have in stock but I'm not too worried. Thanks for the offer.

I did not
I did not know that about Gene Taylor's!! They always supported the community by sponsering Their Legion Baseball Teams in the Summer. I think the one in Gunny is still there!! I don't know for sure though!!! I have a bunch of icons punched at Natchez and MidwayUSA and MidSouth and Grafs and Sinclairs. Have to cover all the bases I guess!!! Good luck this year!!!
