Zebra

Quinton,

Thanks.  I know what you mean about the zebra.  I have seen lots of zebra rugs but very few mounts.  I wanted one on a pedestal so I made my own pedestal.  The sides are travertine and the top is marble.  The black marble top shows off the zebra.

It is a Hartman Mt. Zebra and not the common Burchell.  You will notice that it is basically white with black stripes rather than the common black with white stripes.  They are on the endangered species list and a CITES animal.  I had to do a bunch of paperwork to take it and bring it home.  They are harvested very carefully.

It was one of the hardest hunts I did there.  I worked my butt off to get it.  That's why it is one of my prize trophies.  The kudu is magnificscent but I like the zebra better.  I call that my African corner with those three animals.

My taxidermy

I tried to post these earlier, but I've been having computer problems, so here's trying it again.

I got my first taxidermy done in the early 70's with my first Pronghorn antelope buck.  About 20 years ago I started running out of room, so I built a 30'x35' addition onto my house with the upstairs being one big room for my taxidermy.  My house is on a hill overlooking the Gallatin Valley so I put too many windows in my Trophy Room.  Now I'm running out of room in it.

Here's the east wall with some of my larger critters and a wet bar...

Here's the south wall...

And a couple of new additions to the center of the south wall...

This is my best Bull elk, in the center of the west wall...

This is the left side of the north wall...

And the right side of the north wall ...
